AUDIBLE PERSPECTIVES
The festival dedicated to acoustic ecology

On April 18-19, 2026, the Swiss Society for Acoustic Ecology (SSAE) invites professionals, researchers, artists, and the interested public to Audible Perspectives in Biel.

The event highlights the field of acoustic ecology (also known as soundscape studies or bioacoustics) and makes it accessible through diverse formats and encounters. Audible Perspectives demonstrates how science and art collaboratively explore, document, and communicate soundscapes. While scientific research reveals ecological and societal connections, artistic practices transform them into emotional and sensory experiences.

At a time when natural soundscapes are increasingly under pressure, the event encourages conscious listening — from micro to macro, from near to far, from human to more-than-human worlds. Audible Perspectives creates space for exchange, new connections, and interdisciplinary dialogue, strengthening both the field of acoustic ecology and public awareness of our shared sonic environment.
